Ball State's ViewingPlus program (at the Center for Media Design) has been teaching students how to build interactive television (ITV) applications for six years. In this insightful video, Michael Holmes - (Director of Insight and Research from BSU) descibes the value of bringing these skills to students.

Through a partnership with CableDev (formerly OEDN) and participating companies from the US cable industry, the school is one of the only US universities with a robust curriculum that includes state-of-the-art ITV app development platforms and tools, thus training a new generation of app developers for television (whether on single screen or second-screen apps).

Following the model set by Ball State, we're looking to foster more opportunities for schools to develop ITV apps in the months and years ahead
